SRD R370 Payment Dates — March 2026
The SRD R370 grant is paid separately from all other grants. Payments for March 2026 are expected between 24 and 29 March 2026, processed in batches as SASSA completes eligibility verification for each beneficiary.
Your individual payment date depends on your ID number and when your verification is processed. To check your specific payment date:
- Go to srd.sassa.gov.za
- Log in with your ID number and registered cellphone number
- Your next payment date will appear on your dashboard
If your payment has not reflected within 3 days of your scheduled date, call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11.
How to Receive Your SASSA Payment
SASSA pays grants through the following channels:
Direct bank deposit — if you have linked a bank account to your SASSA grant, funds are deposited directly on payment day. This is the most convenient method as you can access your money at any time from any ATM or via your bank app.
Postbank or SASSA card — use your SASSA green card or Postbank card to withdraw cash at ATMs nationwide, or at retail partners including Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer, and Checkers. Withdrawals at retail stores are generally quicker than ATMs during payment week.
Approved community pay points — SASSA operates pay points in areas with limited ATM access. Your nearest SASSA office can provide pay point locations and schedules for your area.
If you are not sure which payment method is linked to your grant, call 0800 60 10 11 or visit your nearest SASSA office.
What to Do If You Did Not Receive Your Payment
If your payment did not arrive on the expected date, work through the following steps before contacting SASSA:
Step 1 — Wait 2 to 3 business days. Payment processing can take a day or two to reflect, especially for bank deposits. The SRD grant is processed in batches and your payment may arrive a few days into the payment window.
Step 2 — Check your banking details. Payments fail most commonly because banking details are outdated or incorrect. Log into srd.sassa.gov.za (for SRD) or visit your nearest SASSA office (for all other grants) to confirm your bank account details are current and active.
Step 3 — Check for a review notification. If SASSA sent you an SMS requesting a grant review and you have not yet responded, your payment may be on hold until the review is completed.
Step 4 — Check your grant status. For SRD: log into srd.sassa.gov.za. For all other grants: call 0800 60 10 11.
Step 5 — Contact SASSA directly if nothing has resolved after 3 business days:
- 📞 Toll-free: 0800 60 10 11 (Monday to Friday, office hours)
- 📱 WhatsApp: 082 046 8553
- 🌐 Website: www.sassa.gov.za
Important: SASSA Grant Reviews 2026
SASSA is actively conducting grant reviews in 2026 to confirm that payments are going to eligible recipients. This is a legal requirement under the Social Assistance Act. The 2026 Budget confirmed that by December 2025, SASSA had reviewed approximately 292,000 grants and cancelled 34,661 that no longer met eligibility criteria.
If you receive an SMS from SASSA asking you to come in for a review, you must act on it promptly. Ignoring a review notification can result in your grant being suspended or lapsing.
What to do when you receive a review SMS:
- Visit your nearest SASSA office as soon as possible
- Bring your original South African ID document
- Bring supporting documents relevant to your grant type
- The review is free — you will not be charged for anything
If you are unsure whether an SMS is genuinely from SASSA or a scam, call 0800 60 10 11 to verify before responding.
How SASSA Payment Dates Are Structured Every Month
SASSA follows the same payment order every month:
3rd of the month — Old Age Grant. If the 3rd falls on a weekend or public holiday, payment moves to the last working day before that date.
4th of the month — Disability Grant and War Veterans Grant.
5th of the month — All children’s grants: Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency Grant, and Grant-in-Aid.
Final week of the month (approximately 24th to 31st) — SRD R370 Grant, paid in batches based on ID number and eligibility verification.
Tips for Collecting Your Grant Safely and Easily
Avoid the first day if you can. ATMs and pay points are at their busiest on the exact payment date. Funds remain available after payment day — waiting even one or two days can save significant time in queues.
Use retail stores during busy periods. Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer, and Checkers often have shorter waiting times than ATMs during payment week and you can combine your withdrawal with shopping.
Keep your phone charged and with you. SASSA sends payment notifications and important review notices via SMS. A missed message about a review can lead to a suspended payment.
Only use official SASSA channels. The official SRD portal is srd.sassa.gov.za and the official helpline is 0800 60 10 11. Do not share your ID number, PIN, or banking details with any website or WhatsApp number that is not verified as official SASSA.
Report lost or stolen SASSA cards immediately. Call 0800 60 10 11 as soon as your card is lost or stolen. You can still access your grant using the cardless withdrawal method while waiting for a replacement.
